Frequently Asked Questions
Starting care can come with questions. Here are a few places to begin.
-
You do not need to wait until things feel unmanageable. Many people seek support when they notice they are feeling unlike themselves, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or carrying more than feels sustainable.
-
Your first appointment is called a psychiatric evaluation. It is less about being “evaluated” and more about being understood. We will talk about your symptoms, history, goals, current stressors, medical history, medications, and what kind of support may help.
-
Not completely. New patients typically begin with a psychiatric evaluation. This helps determine whether ongoing medication management, therapy-integrated follow-up, referrals, or another treatment plan may be appropriate.
-
ReBridge Psych provides telehealth psychiatric care for adults and adolescents 15+ located in Florida.
-
Not necessarily. Medication may be recommended when clinically appropriate, but treatment is individualized. Care may also include supportive psychotherapy, coping strategies, lifestyle considerations, referrals, or coordination with other providers when appropriate.
-
Therapy-forward psychiatric care means treatment may include more than medication review. When appropriate, visits may include supportive psychotherapy, emotional processing, coping strategies, and discussion of the life context affecting your mental health.
Some patients may still benefit from working with a separate therapist for more frequent, specialized, or long-term psychotherapy.
-
ReBridge Psych offers supportive psychotherapy and psychotherapy-focused sessions for established patients when clinically appropriate and aligned with the treatment plan.
For some concerns, a separate therapist may still be recommended to provide more frequent or specialized therapy.
-
Some psychiatric medications or clinical situations may require lab work, vital sign monitoring, medical history review, or coordination with other healthcare providers. If labs are clinically indicated, this will be discussed as part of your treatment plan.
Lab costs are separate from ReBridge Psych appointment fees.
-
Controlled medications are not guaranteed and are prescribed only when clinically appropriate. Some medications require additional evaluation, monitoring, documentation, follow-up, and review of Florida prescription drug monitoring requirements.
-
Adolescent care may include time with the adolescent and caregiver together, as well as time with the adolescent individually when appropriate. This allows space for both family context and the adolescent’s own voice in care.
-
Yes, caregiver involvement is an important part of adolescent care. The level of involvement may vary based on the adolescent’s age, safety, clinical needs, privacy considerations, and treatment goals.
-
At this time, ReBridge Psych provides care for adolescents ages 15+ and adults.
If services expand to younger children in the future, this information will be updated on the website.
-
